Ontario's Wild Turkey

Pro-Staff Rod Heath on this great Ontario turkey;

"He was rousted about 60 yards behind me (it was pouring rain) we called back and fourth to each other for about half an hour before he flew out of the tree and landed about 100 yds away from me in the meadow, I called him in gently, took him about 15 minutes to parade his way into range."

The Stats; Demise met at 20 yards, 5:45 am, 23Ibs, a 10 inch beard, 1-1/8 inch spurs.

Pourvoirie Des 100 Lacs (100 Lakes Outfitter)

We had a great time in Northern Quebec this time around - our host Jean-Pierre Barrette of 100 Lacs Outfitter.

It's a first class operation. Our Pro and Production staff agree.

Lots of bear were seen by everyone and there was plenty of moose sign in the area as well. The Lodge is situated on beautiful Lake Adonis, a large lake that is a trout enthusiasts dream. Both the lodge and cottages provide all the ammenities of home, and are well thought out. We would highly suggest the American Plan if you are situated away from the lodge - great food served by Chef Gabriel Lacosse. Look for some of Gabriel's creations in our Camp Cook segments which he aptly re-named "Pourvoirie Cooking". Which brings us to the staff of 100 Lacs; all hardworking, friendly, courtious, knowledgeable, and professional.

Our Audio For The Field & Studio

Many ask us how we get achieve our great production sound:

From the clear crackling of our camp's fire, delicious bacon sizzling in the cast iron pan, the cutting dip of our paddles in the autumn lake, the echo of summer forest rain, the call of the misty morning songbird, to the bugle of the rutting Ontario elk, we have the ability to capture it all with some of the best digital equipment - portable enough for us to take anywhere, anytime, in any situation - our menu for successful sound design.

We believe attention to great digital audio takes our productions to the next level - to ensure we stand out from our competitors.

It's working.

Doin The Tundra

A three day "on-ice" excursion to Jim-Bows Bungalows last January.

Our Productions & Pro-Staff had a great time - looking forward to it next season for Jim Barber runs a great business on Lake Nippissing that is second to none in our opinion. The bungalow was clean, roomy with two bunks to sleep four (with holes nearby for "dream fishin"), heated by propane, lots of counter space and shelving, a double sink, a comfortable couch, propane stove/oven, a bbq outside and a great assortment of cooking items/utensils - all the comforts of home were right on the ice. Present were TrapperDirk, Rick, RD, and guest Kenny Sherlock (aka "thud" with the walleye).

Here's just a few pics of thier three day excursion.

Taking A Stand

Tree stands are a very affective way to view, photograph and videograph pretty much anything in the forest without detection. Once your forest friends are used it being there, your set. It allows you to be up and out of the way for days if you'd like. A canopy overhead and your good to go. We use these types of stands over our bear bait and deer runs where the wildlife action is pretty much steady. For the most past, we use a portable climbing stands made by Guido's Outdoors for much of our work. These stands put us into any situation fast, comfortable, warm, safe, and are highly concealing. The stand also travels like a back pack with great options like a cell phone holder and bladder. All our Pro-Staff just love them and should be seen to be appreciated at www.guidosoutdoors.com . I'm sure many more in our business will catch onto these stands in the near future.

Not Just A Bird Dawg

Not just a bird dawg.

Daisy is a black and white german shorthaired pointer, thirteen years of age, still full of beans and always more than willing to join us in the field. This photo was taken last June - she's in wait for the turtles to lay their eggs in the sand to her right. She patient to say the least - waiting for almost three hours for them to make their way to the "drop zone".

The second pic - wondering where they went after....

Our Pro & Production Staff

One from the old days;

Our Pro-Staff James - currently residing in the North West Territories and the owner and primary guide for Akita Outdoor Adventures - offering exclusive outdoor adventures in the NWT. In our opinion, James is possibly one of the best wilderness guides in the business. We liked the pic so much we re-posted it here once more. Every one of our Pro & Production Staff will be posted here eventually. In fact, there will be many Blogs with our Staff in the field.

Keep checking back for them.

The New Direction and The Same Old Stuff!

We've decided that a Blog would be a direct window for our members, viewers, partners, friends and resident rabble-rousers to see first-hand what we are up to.

So welcome to our Blog.

In the coming months you'll read (and see), our excursions and expeditions in the field either while they are happening ("live"), or shortly thereafter - within days anyway. You'll notice soon, that there will be changes to our website, show content, Pro/Production Staff, Partners and company direction. How we are doing business these days. We are looking forward to these changes since it will broaden our audience and overall demographic. We are looking forward to getting back into the field for Canadian Outfitter Television, as well with many Outdoor Productions Canada Photography/Videography Expeditions and outdoor-based Workshops - the latter planned for the 2007 season.

We ask you to check back to our Blogs every so often; get to know us, our company and see what we are about.
