I ask a simple question

I email our Pro-Staff James Lattimer who is currently residing in Canada's Northwest Territories and ask; where are ya? Figuering he may be on his way home to Cornwall Ontario area Christmas with his folks. His reply: "I can usually be found at Northing 6948986.000 Easting 6938075.000 in UTM 11. The red dot is me."

I ask a simple question, I get a simple answer.

A Great Pic From Our Past

Pictured above is a great Muskie caught November 1966 out of Bass Bay Camp, Baxter County, Georgian Bay with Angling Guide Andy Brissette. A great story behind this one; the angler caught this for the Ontario record, but the gentleman who was fishing with the angler (at the time), above (the anglers underling at work), went out the same year and beat this record by a few pounds.

This muskie weighed in at 42 pounds, 52 inches in length (4', 4"), and 25 1/2 inches in girth. It was caught with a 13 inch pike minnow.

Success Runs In The Family

Yes, success does runs in the Heath family.

Outdoor Productions Canada's Pro Staff (and proud papa), Rod Heath with son Mathew and his fantastic 10 point Ottawa area buck that dressed out at 223lbs.

The story from Rod Heath:

"We went out Friday afternoon got in the stand around 3:00. I told Matthew he had a good chance to get a big deer at this spot. We were there for about 5 minutes and saw a 4 pointer that Matthew passed on, shortly after some does came out, that we watched them for awhile. Then a six point came out and a spike horn came out at the other end of the clearing. Timing was right the deer were very active that afternoon. Then around 4:00 a monster 10-pointer came out chasing a doe at about 125 yards, he stopped and was broad side to us for a second, Matthew decided to wait and see if he would come in closer but as quick as he appeared he disappeared chasing after the doe. Then at 4:30 another 10-pointer came out and worked his way through some alders and stepped out 50 yards from the stand. Matthew was not going to let this one get a way. He dropped him with one shot. I don't know who was more excited myself or my son."

Conradulations on this great buck Mathew!
